I like to try new recipes and these sunsational flavors can surely assist me in making something really tasty. Try these easy sensational summer recipes. doTERRA CUMIN TACO DIP

8 oz. cream cheese, softened

8 oz. sour cream
1 drop of doTERRA cumin oil
1 head lettuce, chopped
2-3 tomatoes, chopped
1 bunch scallions, chopped
1 jar sliced green  olives 
1 jar salsa 
1 block cheddar cheese, shredded
With mixer, cream the cream cheese, sour cream and cumin. Spread across
the bottom of a 13 x 9 pan.  Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.Spread salsa across cream cheese mixture. Layer chopped tomatoes (remove
pulp to prevent being watery),chopped scallions, lettuce, 
olives and shredded cheddar cheese. Serve with tortilla chips and enjoy.

doTERRA SPEARMINT TEA

2 c. of boiling water 

5 teabags

1/2 c. of sugar

1 drop of doTERRA spearmint oil 
1 sm. can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed 

Steep tea bags in hot water, sugar and spearmint leaves for several hours. Remove tea bags and leaves. Add lemonade concentrate and cooled tea mixture to a gallon jar. Add water and ice, enough to fill jar. Serve.

doTERRA DILL AIOLI 

2 egg yolks

2 tbsp. lemon juice

1 drop of doTERRA dill oil

2 tbsp. bread crumbs
4 lg. garlic cloves
1/2 tsp. sugar
1 c. olive oil

Whirl in blender until thick. Add olive oil, very slowly. When mayonnaise has thickened, the rest of the oil can be added a little faster. Thin with 1-2 teaspoons boiling water. Great with avocado fries!

doTERRA TANGERINE WHIPPED TOPPING 

1 tsp. Knox gelatin
2 tsp. cold water

1 drop of doTERRA tangerine oil 
3 tbsp. boiling water
1/2 cup ice water
1/2 cup nonfat dry milk
3 tbsp. sugar (extra-fine preferred)
3 tbsp. vegetable oil
few drops vanilla (optional) 

Extra fine sugar can be found in 1 lb. boxes in the sugar section. If it isn't available, regular white granulated sugar may be used as-is, or run it through a food processor for easier dissolving.

Chill a small metal mixing bowl. Soften gelatin with 2 teaspoons of cold water. Stir in boiling water until gelatin has dissolved completely. Cool until lukewarm.

Add the ice water and nonfat dry milk. Beat at high speed until mixture forms stiff peaks. Gradually add sugar while constantly beating, then add  veg. oil , tangerine oil ,and  gelatin.

Freeze for 15-20 minutes, then transfer to refrigerator until ready to use. Stir before using to retain the creamy texture.

This whipped topping is especially good when piped through an iSi cream dispenser, but it can just be dished with a spoon as you would Cool Whip.

Makes 2 cups.

With cold weather comes stuffy noses. I am dealing with a case of the sniffles and a stuffy nose . I find that diffusing doterra eucalyptus oil or using the oil while showering helps.                           How to Make Homemade Kefir 

       What is Kefir?

Kefir (pronounced kee-feer) is a cultured milk , similar to yogurt as they both have beneficial live  probiotics  . The cultures are called kefir grains ,which look like cauliflower curds. They feed off the sugar and lactose present in the milk . Probiotics are essential in maintain healthy gut flora -they are the good bacteria that work to build a infrastructure and fight  the bad bacteria which in turn strengthens you immune system . Kefir is also high in Vitamin B, calcium, & protein.

This could be my next guilty pleasure except without all the guilt . Flavored with one drop of  grapefruit essential oil and raw honey for a little sweetness, oh my is this so good!

Recipe:

• 1 cup of kefir
• 1 tsp of raw honey
• 1 drop of  grapefruit oil

Let's be real here , if this is going to be a staple in your diet then it needs to taste good , the sames goes for me as well. 

Is Kefir simple to make? 

 It's very simple. Add close a teaspoon of the kefir grains to a cup of milk, cover the glass, and let it sit out at room temperature for about 24 hours. I have a space in my cabinet set aside for my kefir. During this time, the healthy bacteria and yeast in the kefir grains will ferment the milk, eating the lactose and sugar present in the milk preventing it from spoiling while transforming it into kefir. You can make a new batch of kefir roughly every 24 hours (the temperature of your kitchen can affect the exact time) just by putting the kefir grains in a fresh cup of milk. As long as you keep feeding the grains they will flourish.Over time, the grains will multiply and you can either discard ,put them in a smoothie , or share it with friends. You can also take a break from making kefir by putting the grains in a new cup of milk and storing this in the fridge. When ready to resume, repeat the process and enjoy!

When finished, the kefir will have thickened to the consistency of buttermilk and taste noticeably tangy, like yogurt. Strain out the grains so you can use them in another batch, and the kefir is ready to drink.

What happens if i forget about my grains?

Lets say it has been over 24 hours,more like closer to a week. Don't fret , all is not lost. Kefir grains are resilient. Repeat the process of making kefir and you are good to go.
If it has been longer than a week ,you will need to strain the grains ,rinse in purified water ,add a quarter cup of milk ,and change every few hours to try to revive them .I would  make a few batches before consuming.You can also add prebiotics to help in the reviving process to help the  grains back to its former glory. When you are done ,you can help your grains by using fructooligosaccharide (FOS) just add milk,FOS, and grains and ferment for 24 hours.

Treating Burns      

                  

                                                                                    Yesterday evening , I was checking my baked chicken in the oven , it was a busy day as this was the first day back to school for my girls. Yep, you guessed it, I burned my arm . OUCH!! I went straight for my doTERRA Lavender oil and put it directly on the burn. Immediately I felt relief. Ahhhhhh! A slight sting  remained, but it was faint. I then layered Frankincense and Lavender oil on the burn and about 30 minutes later I had even forgotten about the burn. There was no more pain and I was able to touch the burn. doTERRA oils are a great natural alternative to modern medicine .

Suggested protocols:

The quicker, the better. Cover the affected area with lavender oil. Then, if possible, cool the area with peppermint or a cool compress. If the burn area is too sensitive to apply the oils directly, then use a water spritz with lavender and peppermint .

•  If blistering occurs or the skin is compromised use Frankincense or melaleuca to prevent infection.

•  White fir is also recommended to minimize pain and prevent infection.

•  As healing begins use helichrysum to promote  tissue regeneration and prevent scarring.
